Repairs
Our desktop repairs cost a flat rate of $40 plus parts. The parts will usually be second hand and therefore cheap. Laptop repairs cost $50 plus parts. Laptop repairs tend to take longer as they involve a high degree of concentration and care. Parts for laptops are often sourced online and can take awhile to arrive. If we need to purchase parts to complete a repair we will ask your permission first as this will make the repair more expensive. When the cost of the repair exceeds the value of the computer we will also confirm whether you wish to go ahead. Our repairs come with a 3 month warranty. Remember, we don't charge you if we can't fix it.
What to Bring
For desktop and tower repairs just bring in the box. Start by turning the computer off. Then turn the power off at the wall but leave it plugged in. This keeps the computer earthed. Unscrew the monitor cable before pulling the plug out from the back of the computer. Now unplug everything else that's still plugged into the computer. Bring the box to ReVamp and we'll do our best to diagnose the problem and fix it.
If you think it's a monitor problem try turning the monitor on when there's no computer connected to it. Really not connected that is. No cable to the computer, just a power cable from the the monitor plugged into the wall socket and turned on. If you see something onscreen, even just briefly, like the brand name, or maybe "No signal", or even "Monitor going to sleep", then the monitor is probably fine. Just bring in the computer.
For laptop repairs please bring in the laptop and it's power supply and cables. Laptop power supplies vary greatly so ideally we want the one it came with. Of course, if it's the power supply you want replaced please bring in the dead one, if you still have it, as well as the laptop.
